Friday Introductions: Meet Katie Clay

We’re back with the next installment of our Friday Introduction series! Today, we’re introducing you to our amazing Venue Sales Manager, Katie Clay. We are so fortunate to have Katie on our team! She cares so deeply about our clients and strives to make each experience unique. We know you’ll love her as much as we do!

Katie, what is your role at McAlister-Leftwich House?

I am the Venue Sales Manager at the McAlister-Leftwich House! In this role, I have the honor of showing the house to our potential couples and sharing the beauty of its design and rich history with our community. I love the ways I get to engage with our guests from the start of their journey through the booking process, to working closely with them to create a seamless event, all the way to watch them walk down the aisle.

What excites you about coming to work each day?

It is so exciting to be entrusted by each couple and corporate clients alike with all the details of each event that comes through these doors. I love being apart of the journey in an honest way that makes our guests feel right at home. It also doesn’t hurt that I get to work in one of the most gorgeous homes in town! I also love having the distinct privilege to work alongside some of the kindest and smartest women I know. It is so fun to learn and grow with such an amazing team that’s full of grace, laughter, and heart!

If you had to pick your favorite room in the houses, which one would you pick and why?

So many favorites, this one is tough! I am SO biased about this one but oh well! Not many people get to see it when you come for an event, but my favorite room would have to be my office! I am not sure how I got so lucky to get it but it is so beautiful and the natural light coming through the windows and bouncing off the light walls is the perfect place to be inspired! I could work in there for hours with my baby by my side and be so happy!

My other favorite room (if that is allowed!) would have to be the hair and makeup room of the bridal suite! Again, I love it so much for all the natural light it captures and every time I go in there I just imagine all the laughter and wonderful memories that are created in there while brides are getting all pretty and ready to walk down the aisle to their forever!

What is your favorite part of a wedding day?

My favorite part of the wedding day might seem very unusual to most but I absolutely love watching the bride and groom interact during the time directly after the ceremony… They have just said their “I do’s” in front of all their loved ones and they are finally husband and wife! They can take a deep breath and begin celebrating and it is just so fun to see their excitement beaming and the happy tear-filled kisses!

What do you spend your time doing when you’re not working?

I am a homebody through and through. My husband, Adam, and I love snuggling with our babies on the couch (Cadence 8 and Titus 7 months). We enjoy our Saturday breakfast tradition of bacon and waffles, we love serving at our church on Sundays, and also spending every second we can just taking in every precious moment we are blessed with!
