A Thanksgiving Cocktail

We’re here today to give you the most delicious cocktail recipe for this Thanksgiving. Your family and friends are sure to love it! We’re calling this drink The McAlister because the McAlister House gives a warm feeling and welcomes you in every room you’re in! We hope you enjoy this festive fall drink!

Today I’m going to share my favorite fall cocktail, a Pomegranate Gin and Tonic. Gin and tonic became a go-to drink of mine this summer whether at the pool with friends or on the back porch with Clay. It’s so refreshing and light, and because I’m not tired of it yet, I wanted to find a way to transition my favorite summer drink into one that helps usher in the new season.

I love the moody red tone of the drink, the visual interest of the pomegranate arils (not to mention eating them at the end!), and a sprig of fresh rosemary gives it an earthy feel that makes me think of fall. Here’s the simple recipe so you can make one of your own:

POMEGRANATE GIN AND TONIC

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces gin
  • 4 ounces tonic water
  • 2 ounces pomegranate juice
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • crushed ice
  • pomegranate arils
  • lime wedges
  • rosemary sprig

Instructions

  1. Fill a glass with a small handful of pomegranate arils and crushed ice.
  2. Pour the gin, then the tonic.
  3. Stir in the pomegranate and lime juice and wedges.
  4. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and pomegranate arils sprinkled on top.
