Meet the Team

As you may know, it takes a lot to pull off your dream day. Your vendors work tirelessly to ensure your event is just as you pictured! It’s truly a joy see a vision become reality at McAlister-Leftwich House. Today, you’ll meet the ladies in the office who do everything they can to make sure your day is a drema come true!

Kaitlin Holland

Kaitlin Holland is the Owner, Visionary & Marketing Director of McAlister-Leftwich House. She is most passionate about creating content for the McAlister-Leftwich audience, planning community events to share the beauty of the venue, and curating creative offerings for clients in partnership with the team. She lives in Greensboro with her husband and Co-Owner, Clay, and her littles, Lucy, James, Jack, and Teddy.

Kaitlin graduated from Elon University with a degree in Art and quickly discovered her love for entrepreneurship. After starting a successful vintage rental company in 2012 (and later selling it in 2015), Kaitlin saw a need for a training environment that served the creative entrepreneur as a whole. So, she created The School of Styling to provide women a place to build business and creative confidence. After seven years of owning The School of Styling, she sold it in 2020.

In 2016 she came across McAlister-Leftwich House in a casual search online. She quickly fell in love with the property and she, along with Cheryl (her mother) and Clay, began to dream up what this beautiful place could be. After an extensive process with the city and numerous historic committees, the trio renovated and transformed McAlister-Leftwich House into the wedding and event venue it is today.

Cheryl Briley

Cheryl moved to Greensboro, NC from Raleigh, NC in 2017 after she, Kaitlin (her daughter) and Clay purchased the McAlister-Leftwich House. She is a graduate of North Carolina State University.

Cheryl is the Owner and Sales Director at the McAlister-Leftwich House. She handles the day-to-day operations of the homes (and with two historic homes that is no easy feat!). Cheryl not only keeps the venue running in tip top shape and looking pristine, she is also the friendly and warm face that will greet you on a tour. She has a deep love for the homes and is excited to share that passion with all who enter!

She loves spending her days at McAlister-Leftwich House, visiting her kids in Raleigh and Charlotte, and playing with her six grand babies Lucy, James, Jack, Teddy, Clara & Margot!

Jamie Trogdon

Jamie was born and raised in Kennett Square – a small town outside of Philadelphia – until she moved to North Carolina to attend college. She graduated with a degree in Psychology from High Point University, where she also studied Interior Design, Studio Art, and Non-Profit Leadership and Management. While in college, she fell in love with the cute guitar player at church, Chris, and they tied the knot in June of 2016. Five years later, Jamie and Chris welcomed home their first child, a beautiful little girl!

A true “people person”, Jamie has always been drawn to opportunities that allow her to interact with and serve the people around her. This, combined with her deep love for coffee, led her to five years in the coffee industry. Several of those years were spent working behind the scenes as a Project Manager for a local company that designs coffee shops and restaurants, but she found the most joy working behind the bar as a barista. She joined the McAlister-Leftwich team in 2020 as a Venue Host and immediately knew she found her place serving families in the wedding industry!

When she’s not working, Jamie enjoys trying new breweries with her husband, reading with her daughter, playing board games with her parents, binge watching Superstore, and roaming the aisles of Target. Jamie plans to open her own coffee company one day, and you’ll almost always find her with a homemade latte in hand!
