In North Carolina, outdoor summer wedding may not seem to sound just right. I mean, the weather is a bear this time of year. But, at McAlister-Leftwich House, we have the unique ability to create a flow for your wedding that takes guests both inside and outside throughout the night that capitalizes on the space, creates a natural flow, and gives you the wedding you’ve dreamed of.
First up, the ceremony. Having your ceremony outside in the summer could be hot. We get it. But, if you pick the right location, there will be shade from the trees that line the property. This ceremony is in the Garden Nook, a space nestled between both McAlister and Leftwich. The Garden Nook is the perfect back drop for a summer ceremony.
Next, guests take a break from outside and head to Gant for cocktail hour. For this set up, the space has the bar, the dance floor, and cocktail tables throughout. This space allows for guests to chat, grab a drink, and an appetizer while the newlyweds snap some photos outside with their friends and family.
Then, guests are lead back outside to the lawn of Leftwich for dining under the bistro lights. This gives guests the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful architecture of Leftwich and that magical feeling of being under the bistro lights! Before dinner is the perfect opportunity for the bridal party and newlyweds to make their entrance down Leftwich’s stairs! Our couple, Hampton & Lauren, chose to do their first dance after their entrance at the bottom of the stairs. It was perfect!
Finally, back inside to celebrate by dancing the night away with family dances and an open dance floor! Guests can mingle both in Gant or on the lawn. This gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy the night how they want to! Partying on the dane floor or sitting under the stars, everyone is happy!
To round out a perfect evening, guests will be invited outside to the stairs of Leftwich to send off the couple! Hampton and Lauren had a little treat of Krispy Kreme donuts waiting for guests as they left! What a fun night!
We think that outdoor summer weddings can be fun and flow perfectly to make your guests and YOU happy! What do you think?
