Katherine & Chris’ March Celebration

Last March, we had the privilege of being a part of Katherine & Chris’ wedding celebration at McAlister-Leftwich House. It was a beautiful March day full of love and joy. Katherine and Chris were married a few weeks prior by Katherine’s grandfather in Virginia. Then, they came to North Carolina to celebrate with their friends and family! We are so excited to relive their day through photos!
Let’s start with the details. From Chris’ bowtie to the pictures of loved ones who could not be there on the mantle, it was all so thoughtful and planned from the heart. You can tell that Katherine and Chris’ personalities were on display throughout their reception. Their planner, Katie Brooks Event Co, took the time to curate and execute their vision to perfection!
Just look at Katherine’s dress and bouquet! Stunning. Quick fun fact, this mirror was sourced by venue owner Cheryl and it was originally black. Cheryl gold leafed it to turn it into the beautiful mirror it is today.
Since this was their reception, they took the opportunity to capture a few sweet, intimate moments in the Bridal Suite. We love how their celebration was completely theirs and unique! Something we love to offer our couples is the ability to take photos in so many unique locations. This is a benefit that comes with getting married in 100 year old homes! Such beauty at every turn.
Just look at this dessert table! All the heart eyes. Artsy Cakesy, their cake artist, did a beautiful job creating this cake and their dessert bar. I mean, why not go all out? It’s a celebration! Also, Katherine and Chris opted to hang indoor bistro lights to help bring another element to their design. We just love how they look!
People often ask about layout and floor plan of larger weddings. This is a great example of how to do it! They used round tables for their guests and then used two 6′ long tables in a bay window as their head table. This is a great option if you’d like a head table for your bridal party! Plus, it offers mores space.
