Eli & Elena’s Hurricane Florence Wedding in North Carolina

Our first wedding was one for the books. Not only did Eli and Elena’s wedding take place during Hurricane Florence, but we also didn’t even know the couple until a few days before!! Our friends over at Rebecca Rose Events called on a Tuesday. The weather was looking bleak for their tented wedding at a private residence and they needed another option to give their clients. For that Saturday! We moved quickly, toured the mother of the bride, and then the couple, and finalized the rental reservation on Wednesday. It was a whirlwind! Thankfully, we were available and felt confident we could pull off our first wedding with such an amazing team of pros.

This day was such a perfect example of why it is so important to hire a professional team of wedding vendors for your wedding day. Rebecca Rose Events pulled off this extremely last minute (major) change flawlessly. If you haven’t hired a coordinator or planner for your wedding day we highly recommend it! You never know what could happen the week – or day – of your wedding and you need to have a team that you can trust. We watched every vendor associated with this wedding work some magic to pull it off. Hire the right people and you won’t have to stress about all of the unknowns! Okay, I’ll get off my soapbox now.

Honestly, you would have never known that this wasn’t the original plan for Eli and Elena’s special day. The couple (and their families!) were the epitome of poise and grace. They were so kind and wanted their day to be a joyful celebration – no matter where it ended up taking place! And we may be biased, but we were incredibly grateful it happened at McAlister-Leftwich. Not only was it a fun and memorable start for us, but it was filled with the sweetest people (both guests and rockstar wedding pros!) including the Rebecca Rose Events team, Ally & Bobby Photography, Tease & Blush, and Holly Tate Fine Catering, to name a few.

The couple spent the morning in the Bridal and Groom’s Suites, said “I do” in Winston-Salem, and then came back for a family-style dinner and dancing. Here are some of our favorite images from Ally & Bobby:
